Some concerned citizens in New York City called 911 after seeing a dog was left in a car with the windows up on a day when the temperatures were hovering over 80-degrees.
The NYPD says it is prohibited to leave animals in cars in such conditions because it can be deadly.
Several officers responded to the scene and worked quickly to break the window and free the dog who was so happy to see everybody!
And one officer took a special liking to the sweet dog…
The pup was taken to the vet and then handed over to the ASPCA where the officer would show up to adopt the furbaby for good!
