Herd Of Deer Surround Black Cat And Lick Him
A black cat got a very strange grooming session when he was surrounded by a herd of deer. The video, shared on YouTube, shows the cat calmly lying down and letting the deer lick his fur.
In fact, the cat feels quite relaxed by the whole thing, seeming to indicate the deer have done it before.
People immediately speculated as to what was the cause of the strange behavior. Was it because the cat’s fur might be a salty treat? Or were the deer simply being motherly?
One person noted, “Deer, like most herbivores, require salt intake to help breakdown grasses, etc. consisting in their natural diet. Cats secrete salt naturally through their skin & collect it on their fur via salt trapped in the air moisture itself, hence free salt lick.”
Another viewer concurred. “Cat dander is especially salty. Don’t ask me how,” they wrote. “That’s why they love this. It’s a natural salt lick for deer. My 3 cats love their deer herd that come through our yard each early morning…I never have to clean my cats after them…”
Whatever the reason, all the animals seem to be enjoying it.
“What is amazing is that the cat just sat there & took it all in,” said one commenter.
Another viewer observed, “This is incredible. The Cat is enjoying every minute of it. Nothing but love. ”
Yet another person noted that the cat is in heaven. “The cat is on cloud 9, he has truly found his personal STAFF team.”
